BB Alpha Health’s management team meets with over 300 healthcare company management teams each year in order to recognize when a stock’s development is dependent on the outcome of a specific product.
At this point, the managers conduct extensive survey work with medical practitioners in order to determine if the product will exceed or fall short of Wall Street’s expectations.
This proprietary survey work generates an information edge that the managers transform into strong risk-adjusted returns through running a diversified, well-balanced portfolio.

The BB Alpha Health fund generally has between 30-50 long and 30-50 short equity positions.
The managers aim to ensure that the results of the fund are a pure representation of the value of their extensive research process and are not overly influenced by single-stock unpredictability or market movements (Beta). Specific goals are annual net returns of 12-20% with a standard deviation of 10-12%; a Sharpe ratio of 2 is the stretch goal.
